A number of Sunni Arab citizens, residing in south of Ahwaz, were arrested by security forces on the eve of Eid al-Fitr.
According to the Campaign for Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners and according to human rights activists from Ahwaz, a number of Sunni citizens from Malashieh area south of Ahwaz were arrested by security forces on the eve of Eid al-Fitr on Thursday, May 21st, 2020.
The names of a number of detainees are as follows: 30-year-old Ayub Khazraji, 28-year-old Yousef Khazraji, 29-year-old Jamil Silavi, 31-year-old Khalil Silavi, 37-year-old Ibrahim Kroshavi. So far, the reason for these arrests are not know, but local sources say hundreds of Arab Sunni activists have been arrested in recent years on the eve of Eid al-Fitr.
