Manouchehr Bakhtiari was Arrested

Manouchehr Bakhtiari, the father of Pouya Bakhtiari, one of the victims of the November 2019 protests, was arrested in Kish.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Manouchehr Bakhtiari, Pouya Bakhtiari’s father, was arrested in Kish on the evening of Monday, July 13^th, 2020.

Mr. Bakhtiari’s relatives reported the disappearance of Manouchehr Bakhtiari and his wife on the morning of Tuesday, July 14^th, 2020.

Mr. Bakhtiari is said to have traveled to Kish Island with his wife on the morning of Saturday, July 11^th, 2020. He was detained by security forces while going to Kish Airport to return to Tehran on Monday evening of July 13^th, 2020.

Pouya Bakhtiari is one of hundreds of Iranians who were shot dead by security forces during a nationwide protest on November 16^th, 2019.
